About Me
For the past ten years, I've specialized in managing the implementation and upgrade of strategic Oracle and PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) software applications for financial, human capital and retail merchandise management. for three Fortune 500 companies, all leaders in their industries.
Prior to becoming an ERP specialist, I worked for a "Big 4" consulting firm, PriceWaterhouse, and a large dot.com consulting firm, Proxicom.
I'm a hands-on project manager who has directed and successfully managed full lifecycle, highly complex, multi-year technology projects with very aggressive timelines. I'm able to work under limited supervision managing large-sized projects of high complexity and risk.
One of my key skill sets is consensus building, teamwork, and motivation. I'm also comfortable working with executive management and leading a diverse team of consultants and employees representing multiple organizations in a dynamic, visible, and changing project environment.
I'm a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and have been a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2006. I also belong to the Information Systems Special Interest Group and the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of PMI.
In 2009 I started stevegriffispmp.com, adding project management consulting and packaged project management methodology implementation to my service offerings. I also added an online store to the website, catering to the interests of project managers. I blog on project management topics at stevegriffis.wordpress.com. You can also follow me on twitter.
My personal interests include community service, skiing, cooking great meals, and a good romp with my dog!

Giving Back to the Community
Part of any good corporate organization is being able to give back to the community you serve.
While at Franklin Templeton and Gap I've proudly participated in community service projects including the Franklin Templeton Annual Memorial Run for 9/11 Families, and served as the PMO coordinator for Gap's Adopt-a-Family holiday giving program in 2008.
While at Gap I also joined the Gap Foundation's AidsWalk organizing committee for the San Francisco AidsWalk in 2006 and 2007, and also participated in the walks as a StarWalker.
